Birthday party presentation and quiz

In a previous blog post I forecasted that eventually the presentation and quiz we had at the birthday celebration party on 8 March would be published in a future blog post, in some way or another. So after some revision and translation efforts, the moment has now arrived. 🥳

The presentation

The major part of the presentation contains my son’s pictures of celestial bodies like the Sun, some major planets in the solar system (Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn), the Moon, Northern lights, the inside view of the Milky Way, and the indeed very far-away coming comet that passed Earth quite closely in 2024. But it also contains pictures of deep sky objects such as a few galaxies and nebuloae, and furthermore we have added professional/official pictures of most objects by foremost, but not only, NASA (the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration) and ESA (the European Space Agency). As being the actual presenter, I also added the facts to each picture/body.

Moreover, some videos are added to the presentation: The Final Countdown song by the Swedish hard rock group Europe in a concert from 2017, the total eclipse of the Sun in the US in the Spring of 2024, and a short documentary video about the Mars Perseverance Rover and its exploration of Mars in the mission of finding traces of former life on the planet. In the very end we aslo have added some party pictures, of course. 🙂

The quiz

With some inspiration from making the presentation, I couldn’t help myself from also adding a quiz for our guests to crack. Except for some astronomy related questions, it also contained questions focusing on other aspects of the Universe; such as history, physiology, psychology, and philosophy.

Finally

Despite the above might not seem as much of a ”coming out” event, for me it was in relation to my family and relatives just as I have pointed out previously. So now they know that I am weird for sure, so no more second guesses are needed on their behalf. 😀
